The BIG Jams!

I have been a music lover all my life...from Beethoven to Paramore...I love 'em all...This week, I have been uploading adult alternatives to my IPOD...and it gives me the same chill moment like a ballad song would...so I’m giving here a tribute to 10 songs i really like in my Big Jams...
1. What About Now by Chris Daughtry - I have been a Daughtry fan since his IDOL days, a friend of mine loved his "HOME", while I go gaga over this one….
What about now?
What about today?
What if you're making me all that I was meant to be?
What if our love never went away?
What if it's lost behind words we could never find?
Baby, before it's too late,
What about now?...

What About Now has its good moments. It is hedging the line between alternative and hard rock music. It does what it needs to do, and very little more. That's why its number ONE on my list.

2. Afterglow by INXS - This is included in the post-Hutchence album - SWITCH.
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Though the focal point of this rock band is melodic rock, new wave and combined funk...it was really the soulful voice of Michael Hutchence which carried the group to stardom. The new lead vocals won from the ROCKSTAR competition and much to my surprise, this song has soft keys in it. It’s like a romantic song with a little twist of rock. INXS just proved us that they are still a top band to beat.

3. In the Sun by Michael Stipe - REM's frontman Michael Stipe belted this song with so much force with the help of Coldplay's Chris Martin.
I picture you in the sun wondering what went wrong
And falling down on your knees asking for sympathy
And being caught in between all you wish for and all you seen
And trying to find anything you can feel that you can believe in
May God's love be with you
Always

A great song with powerful voices of Stipe and Martin. I would say that Stipe even gave a better rendetion than its original singer Joseph Arthur. The song continues to revel more each time you listen to it. Im proud to have this song!

4. Never Gonna Be Alone by Nickelback - This song was given to me thru email by a "friend", maybe that’s the reason why I have included this in my list.
Time, is going by, so much faster than I,
And I'm starting to regret not spending all of here with you.
Now I'm, wondering why, I've kept this bottled inside,
So I'm starting to regret not selling all of it to you.
So if I haven't yet, I've gotta let you know...

I am more of a lyric than melody listener. I dont know why it was sent to me, but I guess between the lyrics lie his true feelings? Argghhh, am i dreaming again?

5. Everything You Want by Vertical Horizon - You may find this song explaining your feelings for someone with the things he says to you…
He's everything you want, he's everything you need,
He's everything inside of you that you wish you could be,
He says all the right things, at exactly the right time,
but he means nothing to you and you don't know why..."

These little words can describe everything about how he affects your life, and how his words mean a lot to you. I know that the first time I heard the words it really made me feel and think the words being said. It is a definitely a great song to listen to...either in the car, at home, or anywhere you please. Everyone should at least listen to it once to see how you feel about it.

6. Angels or Devils by Dishwalla - From "Smallville" to "Judyville", thats how far this song travelled.
I can see the pain in you
and I can see the love in you
but fighting all the demons will take time
it will take time

My friend Kirk loves this song too, and its already part of our BOOZE nights...the memories that go along with this song is forever embedded in our hearts…

7. Tonight by FM Static – This song is a power ballad in the vein of alternative genre.
Tonight I've fallen and I can't get up
I need your loving hands to come and pick me up
And every night I miss you
I can just look up
and know the stars are
holdin' you, holdin' you, holdin' you tonight

I do remember you tonight. This is the song that will remind you of how sweet it is to have someone to hold at night. Thanks to my niece Mai2x who introduced this song to me.

8. Colorblind by Counting Crows – I love the rough feel of this song. This is just a repeating song, but a really good one.
I am ready
I am ready
I am ready
I am fine
I am covered in skin
No one gets to come in
Pull me out from inside
I am folded and unfolded and unfolding
I am colorblind

It’s a nice song to listen to when you are just about to go to bed, not to mention that Counting Crows is one of my favorite bands since the ‘80s…

9. When Im Gone by 3 Doors Down – Definitely a lovesong is hiding behind the lyrics.
So hold me when I'm here
Right me when I'm wrong
Hold me when I'm scared
And love me when I'm gone
Everything I am
And everything in me
Wants to be the one
You wanted me to be

A nice song to dedicate to someone whom you cant live without with, but not too cheesy to listen to. Three Doors Down have other great songs and its not surprising that they have topped the charts.

10. Always Be My Baby by David Cook – Oh Im sorry I had to include David Cook, I have listened to his Analog album, and the songs after this winning piece, but sad to say, Im still hooked to this one until now.
You'll always be a part of me
I'm a part of you indefinitely
Girl don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way you're never gonna shake me
Ooh darling cause you'll always be my baby

David Cook’s version of this song lets us forget Mariah Carey. David Cook, you will always be my baby!
